Angie Stevens is one of the Co-Marketing Directors at Reading Horizons. She has worked in Reading Horizons marketing department for three years, starting as the Public Relations Assistant. As she has seen the value of Reading Horizons methodology she has become increasingly determined to make the marketing efforts of Reading Horizons effective so that more educators will be aware of the solutions Reading Horizons offers. To improve Reading Horizons efforts, she has studied internet marketing extensively and earned Hubspot’s Inbound Marketing Certification.
While working for Reading Horizons, Angie also completed an internship at a therapist’s office that specialized in a type of therapy called Neurofeedback. While working there, she was able to observe and monitor the progress of children and adults dealing with ADHD, depression, anxiety, autism, learning disabilities and other conditions relating to brain development. Many of the children she was able to monitor struggled with reading and she was able to see first-hand the need for the foundational reading skills taught in Reading Horizons methodology.
Through working for Reading Horizons Angie has become convinced that providing every student with effective reading instruction from the beginning of their education is the single most productive thing that could be done to improve the education system, as well as the overall success of each individual student.
Education has always been one of Angie’s biggest priorities. Throughout high school Angie completed AP courses and maintained a high grade point average. Because of this, she earned the Academic Competiveness Grant and was able to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing with a Minor in Psychology in three years from the University of Utah, where she graduated on the Dean’s List with honors in 2009. She has worked for Reading Horizons ever since.
Angie enjoys graphic design, writing, reading, boating, and anything new!
