Dr. Ann C. Sharp
Dr. Ann C. Sharp has 12 years of classroom experience teaching literacy to children
and adults. In 2006 she received her doctorate in Educational Psychology with a
focus in the science of reading, graduating with distinction and winning Dissertation
of the Year Award for her research on spelling development in young children. Ann
won several awards for her research in helping children tutor children and in helping
teachers understand the scientific principles of the reading processes. Ann is currently
a reading researcher for Brigham Young University where she is examining spelling
instruction in a Kindergarten classroom. She is part of a team of experts developing
a literacy program for young children. She has helped home-school parents establish
supplemental or comprehensive reading programs in their home, and has been a guest
lecturer for national and local organizations concerned with literacy. She is a
mother of eight children and fourteen grand children.
