Last month we learn about another sound for c. Now we will talk about another sound for g. When g is followed by a, o or u, it says its hard ‘guh’ sound. But when g is followed by i or e, it usually has the soft sound of j. The problem with g is that it is not 100%. But most often g will follow this rule.
We will mark them the same way we marked the rainbow s words, but over each ge and gi we will place a rainbow j.
Another very effective way to teach and enforce skills is to "act" words out. Older students and ESL students benefit greatly from this activity.
