Reading Horizons v5 Administration System

The Administration system that accompanies Reading Horizons v5 is both powerful and user-friendly. It allows teachers and administrators to cater the curriculum for students, to monitor every detail of each student's progress, to assess students to determine improvement, and to manage multiple sites (online version only).

  • Tiered password protection ensures data integrity. Every teacher has an individual password for added security.
  • Reading Horizons v5 includes many student options that may be enabled by the teacher to best suit the needs of each student. Three distinct student tracks will automatically set defaults for students (emerging, basic, accelerated). These defaults help teachers and administrators to ensure a proper fit with student ability and program curriculum.
  • Teachers manage their students’ records using groups. Teachers may select any name or number for their group. Students may be part of multiple groups.
  • The teacher-administered assessments determine beginning grade level (word recognition) and include Most Common Words and Nonsense Word assessments. The assessments may be given at any time to determine student achievement.
  • Six automatically administered Chapter Tests ensure students’ mastery of skills. Students who fail a Chapter Test will be given a refresher track and then additional practice with each concept. Chapter Test results are displayed on a detailed report in the Administration system.
  • Reading Horizons v5 reports provide detail on student progress through the program. The reports allow for customization and may be displayed two different ways: data or graph.
