Reading Horizons Earns eSchool News Reader’s Choice Award

Tags: Press Release

In September, 2004, eSchool Technology News for Today’s K-20 Educator held its first-ever Reader’s Choice Awards program devoted to reading software for schools. Readers picked the best software products for improving students’ reading instruction in five critical areas: phonics and phonemic awareness, vocabulary, reading comprehension, fluency, and English as a Second Language (ESL). Reading Horizons was voted into the top five in the Best Software for Teaching Phonics and Phonemic Awareness to Older Readers category. TheeSchool News readers were especially impressed with the assessment component to gauge students’ progress. As one educator stated, it “ensure(s) that no child is left behind.”

Tyson Smith, president of Reading Horizons, said, “In the 30+ years the Discover Intensive Phonics method has been taught, we have enjoyed seeing the success of those who have used it. We’re honored that eSchool News readers agree that this program can help struggling readers finally succeed!”
