About Discover Intensive Phonics and Reading Horizons v.5

Discover Intensive Phonics is a reading system that is a proven foundation for all students. It works seamlessly through all three tiers of the Response to Intervention model. The Intensive Phonics Teacher’s kit allows the teacher to teach using direct instruction in the classroom with numerous resources for implementation and assessment of student progress. The computer software component is instructional in nature and is fully narrated so the student can work independently. Ideally, the software is used as a supplement to teacher instruction.

Reading Horizons v5 is a revolutionary reading program that provides proven intervention for struggling readers at the secondary level. The Reading Horizons software was developed for independent use and allows students to progress at their own pace. The software allows teachers to provide that needed individualized instruction for those struggling students. Teachers can use the software, direct instruction or a combination of both to take their students through the program. The direct instruction materials include scripted manuals and resources for implementation and student practice. Reading Horizons offers quick results that allow these students to close the reading gap and improve 2–5 reading grade levels upon completion of the program.

About Reading Horizons

The Reading Horizons program is based on the Discover Intensive Phonics for Yourself method. This method uses multi-sensory, Orton Gillingham principles of instruction and appeals to students’ individual learning styles—visual, auditory, tactile, or kinesthetic. Reading Horizons software programs, along with their corresponding direct-instruction materials, have taught reading strategies to hundreds of thousands of adults, youth, and children. For over 26 years, Reading Horizons has proven to be - The Foundation for Reading English!
