I will advocate for and learn about accommodations and assistive technology for my child/students with learning differences.

I will advocate for dyslexia research, legislation, training, and support for students with dyslexia.

As an educator, I will offer assignment and assessment options so that all students can demonstrate what they know.

SHARE

I will share my love of reading to those around me by reading at home, referencing books in conversations, and encouraging others to read.

I will help students find engaging books at their independent reading level.

I will spread awareness about different causes of reading difficulties by sharing videos or information with my social networks or with the students in my class.

I will post about what I'm reading and what I enjoy or learn from what I read in my social networks.

Once you submit your pledge, you will be connected to free resources that will help you learn, advocate, and share the solutions that make reading for everyone. You will also receive email updates about additional resources and opportunities to promote reading for everyone.

By making a pledge to promote effective literacy development and instruction for everyone, you will also help:

  • reduce frustration for students with reading difficulties
  • increase awareness of effective teaching strategies
  • increase educational and/or employment opportunities for English Language Learners
  • reduce bullying towards those with learning differences
