Reading Horizons Review: Chad Bramble
Here at the U’s ELI, we use the Reading Library Book 2 in a number of classes to help the students with everyday reading skills. I believe this is the third year we are using it. Teachers tend to have the students independently read two times a week in class, although some have encouraged students to try at home too. We like the variety of the readings as well as the questions and the charts to keep track of reading time. We try to explain to students that the only way to really improve their reading skill is to practice: This book provides great practice.
***The reading curriculum referenced in the review above uses the structured literacy approach which is considered by most experts to be the best way to learn to read.***
