One of my students is a 69 year old lady who is recently widowed and she is now working on achieving her GED. Reading Horizons is helping her reach her goal a lot faster with more understanding than if she didn't use it. She is very pleased and I see her progress every week!
One of my tutors just reported to me a great story! She is working with someone that is in chapter 3 of her Reading Horizons lessons. Of course the lessons are getting harder and the student asked the tutor what a word was. The tutor told her to use her decoding skills she has already learned and write it out on paper. About 5 minutes later the student had it all figured out and pronounced it the correct way the first time she said the word!! The tutor was so excited she came and told me right away.
