We've seen some great gains with Abdi, the first student I had concerns about. His College Transitions teacher, shared an essay Abdi wrote. It was far and above anything he'd written before. This time you could actually make sense of what he wrote.
Personally, I've seen a significant improvement in Abdi's reading comprehension. I give him an Easy True Story, he reads it, then I trade the story for the questions and he's been able to answer them with almost 100% accuracy. Last summer, he could not answer the questions, without looking back at the story, and even then he needed additional help much of the time.
