My name is Ian Francis, and I am a student at GROWS Literacy Council Learning Center.
In my own words, I would like to explain how the Reading Horizons program works for me. When I started (with) this program, it opened up new doors for my dyslexia.
I have learned to break down words in syllables, also how not to split up blends. I have learned the meaning of Murmur Diphthongs, Digraphs and words with double letters side by side.
I have also learned when letters sounds short and when (they) sound long. I know the meaning of guardians and - when two or three letters are together - the different sounds they make.
The Reading Horizons program has also helped my reading and my pronouncing words correctly a lot. Now I feel that I can help my father, who is also dyslexic and a diabetic person, by reading his letters and filling (out) forms, etc. He depends totally on me, and I am happy to be helpful to him, as I have improved my reading and writing skills.
