I like Reading Horizons and find it to be extremely valuable to my struggling readers. I have one student in particular who is a junior and second language learner. He has used Reading Horizons on a daily basis since it was installed on our computers in October. I have noticed a drastic improvement in his reading level. At the beginning of the school year, I would have classified him as illiterate. I can now proudly say, (with tears in my eye), that he can read at least half of the words on his quizzes. He can understand what he reads and is gaining knowledge and fluency every day. The program has also improved his English vocabulary in conversation as well.
I am not too savvy with the program myself. All I did was create an admin account and sign the students up at the beginning of the year. I check on their progress from time to time. They are smarter than us with technology anyway. They can figure out how to operate and navigate just about any program or curriculum we throw their way since their generation is so techno-intelligent. Occasionally we have glitches or issues. I have discovered that like e2020, RH has a great tech support team who are prompt in responding to email.
